Just picked up an 08 14 with only 128 miles on her. Should I change the oil now or wait until I complete the break in cycle? Not sure if its ever been changed.

Change it immediately, and the oil filter too. Just to be safe.
She should have petroleum-based oil (standard oil) in her until broken in, but if she sat for months with standard oil in her, it starts to break down and produce acidic components.
Certainly won't hurt anything to change it right away, either, other than the cost of doing so.
After you hit 4k miles, switch to full synthetic.

IMO, change it... you will be surprised at what comes out.
I changed mine at 0 miles, 40 miles, 100 miles, 300 miles, and 500 miles... Overkill? Yes, probably. Worth the peace of mind? Absolutely!... I already had an '06, that was broke in "by the book", lose a rod.

I do notice a difference in engine noise when I have brand new oil so fresh oil will lube better. If that oil is over 6months old it will not be the best, I would change. Personally, I would rather get the metal particles out of there than leave them in for 1000 miles. I changed the oil on my busa after the first 30 miles. I did ~110 in third gear and redlined it 3 times as soon as I rode it off the floor. Then changed oil again at 200, 500 and then 1000.
Some say the metals that build up in the oil during break in are good for the engine. I went with a break in procedure that is common with race vehicles. I used Spectro conventional oil for break in. It is a bit more expensive but it contains metalic additives that are healthy for the engine if you are changing often during breakin.
here's a link you can find a spectro dealer near you.

Here is the info I read to determine break in procedure that I was comfortable with. 3 runs 1/4 throttle to 3000rpm in 1st gear, 3 runs half throttle to 6000 rpm in second, 3 runs WOThrottle to 11000 rpm third gear. Go home change oil. Ride hard downshift and decellerate hard gradually getting more gentle over the next 1000 miles. Don't be abrupt but run it hard. Methodically running hard is not the same as wonton abuse.

So, did keeping the oil in as per owner's manual steer me wrong? 220psi miles later we do the math vs. dump for no reason but the filter doing it's thing anyway?
What about the fact that DNTBLNK's bike is an '08, and therefore the oil was probably put in there sometime in 2007?

IMO, old oil in a sealed container is new oil... and old/contaminated oil in an engine is crap... flush it.
